Veneers in scripps ranch

What Are Veneers?

Veneers are wafer-thin pieces of porcelain that are designed to cover up the front chewing surfaces of your teeth. They can cover up many different cosmetic flaws. Veneers are one of the most popular cosmetic treatments in San Diego, so contact Scripps Rock Dental to learn more and see if they’re right for you.

Why Get Veneers?

Understanding the Benefits

Veneers look and feel very natural since they’re made from tooth-like porcelain. They are also stain-resistant, require minimal care, and can last up to 10-20 years.

Veneers are also extremely versatile and can treat lots of different cosmetic issues at once, such as stained teeth, chipped teeth, gaps between teeth, misshapen teeth, and more. Have questions about the benefits of veneers? Use the button below to get in touch with our team!

Consultation & Treatment Plan

First, you’ll come to Scripps Rock Dental for a consultation and oral exam, and Dr. Gupta or Dr. Tony will decide if veneers are right for you. If you’re approved, they will begin creating your treatment plan.

Tooth Prep & Placement of Temporary Veneers

At your next appointment, Dr. Gupta or Dr. Tony will clean your teeth, numb the treatment area, then remove a small amount of enamel from each tooth that’s getting a veneer. Then, they will take impressions of your teeth, which will be used to build your permanent veneers. It will take a few weeks to make these veneers, so you’ll get a set of temporary veneers to protect your teeth while you wait.

At your final appointment, Dr. Gupta or Dr. Tony will remove your temporaries, clean your teeth to remove any remaining adhesive, then check your porcelain veneers to ensure they fit perfectly. Then, your new veneers will be bonded into place permanently.

Am I a Good Candidate for Veneers?

Most people with healthy mouths can get veneers. Here are a few factors that may determine if you’re eligible:

Oral Health

You must have a healthy mouth free of gum disease, tooth decay, and other such issues to get veneers.

Orthodontic Issues

If you have severe issues with your jaw or bite alignment, these will need to be treated before you can get veneers.

Teeth Grinding

To get veneers, you must not grind your teeth or you may need to get a nightguard to protect your teeth. This helps prevent premature damage to your new smile.
